When I started working at The Container Store my idea of selling was providing a product when a customer asked for one, being friendly and helpful.  As I received selling training, I began to realize there was something very different about this company.  We were confidently selling solutions that actually made a difference in people’s lives – that got our customers dancing every time they looked at their newly organized space.

This way of servicing our customers is called Man in the Desert and is one of our seven Foundation Principles.  Over the years, I have grown in my confidence and taught our staff the importance of providing this service.  The commitment our company has to truly helping each customer get the right solution for their needs is an inspiration to me every day that I hope results in a little dancing.
