Our president Melissa Reiff speaks passionately about us caring about our employees as people – not just employees…to care about their “whole self.” It’s about the blending, mixing and folding of every aspect of our lives in a way that’s right for the employee and the company. That’s the true definition of “work-life balance.”
So we loved that when asked to describe The Container Store in one word, employee Carey G. recently chose the word “Caring.” Four months after she was hired to work at our Dallas Northwest Highway store, she learned that her 13-year-old son had bone cancer, which would require the amputation of his right leg, as well as intensive chemotherapy. Carey’s managers and team rallied around her to make sure she had all the support she needed to continue working while being able to be there for her son and family.
