Ronald McDonald House Charities is a wonderful organization that cares for families of children with complex medical needs by providing comfort, compassion and a sense of community. Their houses allow families of hospitalized children to stay together in a “home away from home.” The city of Chicago is fortunate to have five houses supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI), including a brand new house near Central DuPage Hospital that just opened on January 17!
We recently partnered with RMHC-CNI when we opened our new store in Oakbrook, donating 10% of Grand Opening Weekend sales to the nonprofit. So, when we heard that this wonderful new house was being built, we immediately thought of our favorite product – elfa – and how it could help maximize the storage space at the house!
With the help of employees from several of our Chicago-area stores, we outfitted 12 bedrooms and a craft room with elfa! Many thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities for all the support they provide to care for families of hospitalized children and to our Chicago-area employees for volunteering their time to make this donation and installation possible.
