Some may consider the idea of “boundaries” a bad thing – but when it comes to employee happiness at work, they might actually be a necessity. We love this blog written by Tony Schwartz of The Energy Project about how so many of us have lost the ability to use an “on-off” switch when it comes to our work…and instead just live in a constant state of being neither fully on or fully off. When you check email multiple times a night, or power through an entire workday without taking a break…well…that’s a lack of boundaries, and it’s likely causing you to actually get LESS done!
Tony’s company helps teach other businesses how to meet employees’ core energy needs in order to fuel sustainable high performance. It’s a pretty neat concept – and one that we absolutely agree with. We hope you’ll read his blog and try implementing some of these boundaries in your own work and life!
