The Container Store is keeping our employees, customers, vendors and the greater community throughout the northeast close to our hearts as they continue their recovery from Hurricane Sandy. It’s times like these when our company is at its best – the connections and communication are the strongest as we hold hands across the country to support each other in whatever way we need to.

As you have heard and read, the effort to help victims of Hurricane Sandy is one of the largest in U.S. history. The American Red Cross is quickly working to aid all of those in need through blood drives, product distribution and volunteer time. The effort by the Red Cross is enormous, and of course, The Container Store wants to contribute.

We have been in close communication with the Red Cross to determine the most effective way we can assist the ongoing relief effort, and they have shared that even in lieu of money, their tremendous need from us is for storage boxes. So together with our incredible vendor, Iris, we are donating more than 10,500 storage boxes to the Red Cross. Iris has gone above and beyond for us to help with this relief effort – it is so incredibly touching, heartfelt and a true testament to our Foundation Principles and our wonderful, mutually-beneficial relationship.

Want to know what you can do personally? There are also many ways in which each of us can contribute to the relief effort, and we bet so many of you have already. To find out how you can help, please go to the American Red Cross website at www.redcross.org.
