It’s so fun that John Mackey, the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Whole Foods Market, and Kip Tindell, our Chairman and CEO, were once college roommates in Austin at The University of Texas.  And what’s even more wonderful is that they both went on to found businesses built on love.  In fact, John can’t imagine anything more important than love.  He says that if we’re going to transform America’s corporations, love needs to be front and center.  But you have to create a workplace that embodies love — and have leadership that leads by example.  At our recent staff meeting, John talked more about love, the purpose of Whole Foods Market, healthy living, Conscious Capitalism, running a public company and how they end all of their meeting s with “appreciations” for each other — pretty cool!
