Last week, we hosted our 21st Annual School Supply Drive at our Home Office and Distribution Center to benefit Community Partners of Dallas (CPD)! CPD is a nonprofit organization that provides resources for the caseworkers of Dallas County Child Protective Services in order to restore dignity and hope to abused and neglected children. Each year, our employees help raise funds that will allow CPD to purchase back-to-school supplies for more than 2,400 of these children – things like uniforms, back-packs, folders, markers, paper and much more.
During the School Supply Drive all last week, our headquarters buzzed with excitement as we hosted several fun employee events to help raise money for this cause – including a silent auction, bake sale, snack cart, raffle and even an employee shopping boutique with lots of our products!
Through all of these efforts, we were able to donate more than we ever have before in our more than two decades of supporting CPD’s school supply drive! Our final fundraising total was $44,000 and included employee donations from our many fundraising events, cash donations from vendors and physical school supplies collected. We’re so thankful to our vendors for partnering with us to help support Community Partners of Dallas. Our vendor Group & Pension Administrators even coordinated their own “Jeans Day” fundraiser – where employees at their office donated to the school supply drive and in return were allowed to wear jeans to the office. So creative!
School Supply Drive donations are still being accepted! To donate or to learn more, visit Community Partner’s of Dallas’ website.
