Contrary to popular belief, there’s a lot more to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex than just cowboys, big hair, and J.R. Ewing! Over the last few decades, the area has emerged as one of the most vibrant business centers in the United States. It’s the birthplace of such companies as Southwest Airlines, Neiman Marcus, and Texas Instruments, and it’s now the home of 22 businesses on the Fortune 500 list. In recent years it has also attracted the likes of Toyota, Amazon, and Facebook, who have all built major facilities in the area.
The Container Store has been a proud member of our local business community ever since we opened our first store location in Dallas in 1978. That’s why it means so much to us that we’ve been named one of The Dallas Morning News’s Top Workplaces for the 8th year in a row!
A total of 289 companies entered the competition, and then a list of 100 companies (including USAA, Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, and Tenet Healthcare Corp.) were selected as the best according to employee survey results. Over 74,500 employees from these companies participated in the survey, which covered these companies’ culture, career opportunities, and overall employee satisfaction, among other topics.
