*This is part of our “Leaders We Love” series. Learn more about it.
How could a leader born in 1863 be an inspiration to me today? Look no further than Henry Ford. As I continue to learn about and be inspired by Conscious Capitalism in our world today, I think back about some of the things I remember and learned while visiting the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI, many years ago.
What I’ve always remembered is how Ford was an advocate for improving his employees’ lives and reducing turnover. He realized that hiring and keeping the best employees and paying them more than average was both good for them and good for business. Sound familiar? The Container Store prides itself on a very similar idea. We know that our employees are our number one stakeholder. That’s just one of the reasons we are so proud to be on FORTUNE’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list year after year.
Just as Ford started small yet had huge brand recognition, I am proud to work for our company with only 63 stores nationwide but worldwide recognition. Truly inspiring!
I look forward to our future and the continued collaboration with all of the incredible employees that are part of our great company as we continue our growth – together.
